God
“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
Exodus 3:14
As the divine Creator and Sustainer of all things, God is the central Figure of the Bible (and, indeed, of life, itself). His existence is, by nature, one of Triunity (i.e. one God, eternally co-existent in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). This foundational Christian doctrine has its roots firmly planted in both “Old” and “New” Testaments—the sixty-six canon books, which comprise the Word of God. Recorded in these Scriptures, are a multitude of His attributes—each of which finds its perfection in His Being. Among those characteristics, revealed to mankind, are His omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience, immutability, justice, love, and mercy. After the fall of Adam into sin, as recounted in Genesis, God promised to send a Deliverer to mankind, in order to mend the broken relationship between Creator and creation. This thread of grace can be traced throughout the entirety of the Bible—from cover to cover—and finds its glorious fulfillment in the Person and works of the LORD Jesus Christ.
